A new baby is a blessing, but bringing a baby into the world can be a difficult and scary thing for a mother living in poverty. Keeping a new baby healthy, clean, and comfortable can take a lot of resources. The items included in a Baby Care Kit provide the basics a family needs to care for their newest members and introduce them to the world with pride. Donate any or all items, and a team will assemble them. Not feeling like shopping? Each kit costs $3.10 to ship. Consider donating to the LWR Shipping Fund. We’ll collect Baby Care Kits in May & June.

Festival Easter Worship

Holy Week tells the powerful and poignant story that is at the center of Christian life and faith. Christians around the world focus hearts and minds on the powerful story of the betrayal, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In particular, Maundy Thursday evening through Easter evening know throughout the Christion church as the Great Three Days of Easter (Triduum is Latin for three days). These three days focus intensely on Christ’s passage from death to life.

This annual celebration had become a three-day observance by the fourth century. Worship during Holy Week is best approached as one continuous service. You are invited to remember and witness the entire story.

Ash Wednesday

On Ash Wednesday, February 14, we will gather for worship at 8:00am & 7:00pm, in the sanctuary. The 7:00pm service will be livestreamed online. Christians often participate in Lent by taking on a spiritual practice or discipline, as a form of a “fast.” The intention is to focus on Christ and his sacrifice for us. Some may break an unhealthy habit by giving up sweets or soda. Others might start a healthy habit, give to charity, join a small group, or try a new prayer activity. Consider what you might “give up” or do differently to set apart these forty days of Lent.
